Stratasys FDM 3D printers offer versatile and high-quality solutions for various industries
FDM 3D printers are revolutionizing the way we design and produce parts and opens up new possibilities for entrepreneurs. FDM printers from Stratasys are used in a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace and much more. By using these 3D printers, companies can significantly reduce their supply chains by eliminating expensive external service providers and producing individualized or small series production more cost effectively. FDM printers can create products and parts in a fraction of the time it would take conventional processes, which not only reduces costs but also eliminates delays in production.
Stratasys FDM printers are known for its ability to produce strong, durable, and functional parts with excellent mechanical properties. They can accommodate a wide range of materials, including ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylon, Ultem and even Carbon fiber reinforced materials. Overall, Stratasys FDM printers present a reliable and versatile solution for businesses looking to streamline their production processes and reduce costs.
Layer by Layer: Understanding the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process and its advantages in producing parts with outstanding properties
In the Fused Deposition Modeling manufacturing process, in short FDM, the printed part is produced in a layer construction process. The solid filament wound on a spool is transported by a drive from the spool to the print head, where it is melted and then extruded through a nozzle. The nozzle moves along the x, y and z axes applying the material layer by layer to the lowering printing plate where it hardens again in the process. FDM technology offers the advantage of being able to produce comb structures and hollow printed parts, as well as components with outstanding properties such as chemical resistance, temperature resistance and tensile strength.
