PC-ABS material properties
PC-ABS is a blend of the polymers ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PC (polycarbonate), which combines the positive properties of polycarbonate and ABS. This engineering thermoplastic is known for its strength, durability and heat resistance, making it ideal for functional prototyping, tooling and low-volume manufacturing.
One of the main advantages of PC-ABS is its excellent impact resistance, making it the perfect material for parts that must withstand harsh environments and extreme temperatures. PC-ABS can withstand temperatures of up to 110 °C without losing its structural integrity, making it ideal for applications in the automotive, aerospace and defense industries. Another advantage of PC-ABS is its dimensional stability, allowing printed parts to retain their precise shape over time. This makes it ideal for manufacturing large and complex parts that still require high precision. It is also easy to post-process, allowing users to enhance surfaces through processes such as sanding and painting.
