FAQ - Material Properties

ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is the standard material for the professional FDM technology. Due to its toughness as well as impact and scratch resistance, it is suitable for almost all applications. Whether device housings, automotive components or packaging prototypes, ABS shines as an all-round material in a wide variety of industries. Its good mechanical properties and ease of processing also make the material an excellent alternative to injection-molded ABS. We offer the material in numerous colors and different spool sizes depending on the printer type.
PC-ABS is a blend of PC (polycarbonate) and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) material. It has excellent mechanical properties, combining the strength and heat resistance of polycarbonate with the toughness of ABS. It is often used in the automotive industry.
PC (polycarbonate) has high strength, impact resistance and heat deflection temperature up to 138°C. Its good electrical isolating properties make it particularly suitable for electrical applications. The material is also frequently used as a composite material or for tools. We offer the material in white and black.
ASA, unlike ABS, is UV stable and weather resistant. It has good mechanical properties and a high-quality surface finish. It is ideally suited for components that are used outdoors.
 ULTEM 9085
ULTEM 9085 is a high performance polyetherimide (PEI) raw material from Sabic Innovative Plastics. ULTEM 9085 impresses with its excellent mechanical properties such as temperature resistance of up to 153°C. The material is flame retardant and UL94 V-0 1.5 and 3.0 mm certified. It also meets FAR 25.853 and OSU 65/65 requirements. The material is widely used in the automotive and aerospace industries.
 ULTEM 1010
ULTEM 1010 is a high performance polyetherimide (PEI) raw material from Sabic Innovative Plastics. ULTEM 1010 has excellent mechanical properties such as heat resistance up to 216°C as well as excellent chemical resistance. The material is flame retardant and certified UL94 V-0 1.5mm and 5VA at 3.0mm. The material is widely used in the automotive and aerospace industries.
With up to 15% of short carbon fibers, ABS-CF has high dimensional stability as well as high abrasion resistance for thick-walled components. ABS-CF should not be used for thin-walled components below 2mm wall thickness due to its low elongation at break. Components printed with ABS-CF material have a beautiful surface and a high-quality feel. The material is ideal for fixture construction and tooling.
ABS-ESD is a static dissipative ABS plastic with a surface resistivity that ranges from 106 - 109 ohms depending on geometry, build style and surface finish. Since the material prevents static charges, it is especially suitable for fixture construction for electronic components as well as functional prototypes in the electrical industry.
 IORA Model Clear/White/PureWhite/Blue/Black/Gray
IORA Model materials have high opacity, stiffness and high elongation at break. They are ideal for models with fine details such as casings. Unlike the opaque PolyJet materials, the IORA Model Clear is translucent/clear, making it particularly suitable for components with transparent elements.
 IORA Model Magenta/Cyan/Yellow
By mixing and combining the materials, it is possible to obtain a choice of 500,000 colors to create realistic full-color models. The materials have high rigidity, opacity and detail. They are particularly suitable for colored markings, fixtures and prototypes.
 IORA Model Flex 30A Black/White/Clear
IORA Model Flex 30A material is a rubber-like all-round material that can be used as an alternative to Agilus30 and TangoPlus material. It has a high elongation at break and a rubber look and feel. With its high tensile and tear strength, the material can withstand repeated forces such as twisting, pulling and bending. Combining the material with other PolyJet materials, different degrees of hardness or flexibility can be achieved for the part. The materials are particularly suitable for rubber-like applications such as handles, sheathing, seals, hoses, etc.
 IORA Model Peach 690/670
The IORA Model Peach material serves as an alternative to the VeroDent (MED670) and VeroDentPlus (MED690). Due to its high stiffness and opacity as well as the color, the skin color-like material is most frequently used in the medical field. It is particularly suitable for presentation models of dental protoses and dentures.
